Types of Alerts
Users can expect notifications from the Hazard App regarding significant events such as earthquakes as well as Watches and Warnings for Severe Weather and Thunderstorms throughout New Zealand.

The rollout of the app is occurring in stages across various regions, facilitated by Civil Defence Emergency Management Groups. Currently, alerts will be provided only from the regions where civil defence groups are actively participating in the app program.
